Teddington Town I v Amersham CC Saturday 2nd X1 on Sat 15 Jun 2002 at
Amersham CC Lost by 76 runs
Amersham won the toss, and inspired by England's World Cup victory over Denmark, made a fantastic start, reducing the hosts to 69-6. Duncan Ward's excellent opening spell included the prize wicket of Murphy with his first ball. But a vital chance was missed and Teddington Town capitalised by adding 92 for the 7th wicket. When Ward was brought back he eventually removed Treloar for 75, and finished the innings with a hat-trick and figures of 7-52.
A mixture of poor shots from Amersham and questionable sportsmanship from Teddington Town saw the visitors collapse from 56-2 to 122 all out, and only Chris Cowley (23 not out) offered any resistance.
