AMERSHAM CC Won By 89 runs

Match report Amersham secured bragging rights in the local derby and what was the first match of the 2017 HCPL season. After being inserted Woody Bowcock (17) and Bruce Friderichs (38) got the home side off to a good start before Jack Maciver (3 - 47) had Bowcock caught in the covers with the score on 48. Maciver was rewarded for some steady bowling picking up two more wickets as Amersham faultered on 93 for 4. All this time Rob Viney (90*) was quietly going about his business and with Paul Langley (35) steadied the ship as they put on 64 for the 5th wicket. When Langley was out all hell broke loose as Viney now joined by Luke Jackson put on 78 in just under 8 overs with the final over going for 24! Amersham finished their 50 overs on 235 for 5

In reply Chesham made steady progress at about 4 runs per over but steadily lost wickets with Matt Chapman and newcomer Sam Helm picking up 3 wickets apiece. The Amersham bowlers were always on top as Chesham were bowled out for 136, Amersham winning by 89 runs.

Played one, won one and top of the table............because Amersham begins with an "A"!
