Match report By contrast to the preceding week's availability, the Chairman had to kindly step in last minute to field a side in our second Chess Valley league match of the season against Uxbridge.

After winning the toss and (you guessed it) batting, we could all witness one of the Sunday innings of the season. Stephan dominated the early bowling with huge leg-side sixes off anything short, and well time stroke play on the off-side to anything that strayed too full. His first ton for Amersham and 247 runs on the board (no need to mentioned the caught and bowled that was dropped 7 times in the same incident when he was on 98!).

Joe Shuttle has to get another mention in the match report. That is 2 weeks in a row without even playing on a Sunday. After hearing we were short, he turned up on his birthday and padded up, only to watch Stephan smash the ball to all parts and not manage to get a bat. Many thanks for the commitment Shuts!

Uxbridge always looked quite dangerous with the bat. Callum managed to remove their overseas opener after a good catch by Tom Player at mid-on. Stephan removed a couple more in the middle overs. The ball was then thrown to Raza; what a player this guy is. With a suspect back, we managed to pile on the pressure to a batting line up that saw the run rate soaring by the ball. Raza managed to take 3 wickets and a well crafted run out. The total was too much for Uxbridge and we bowled them our 55 short of our total.
