Could it have been any sweeter? A victory by 4 wickets over arch rivals Chesham to gain ACC promotion and deny them was enhanced by the news that their 1's had been relegated from Div 1!
I do not have the scorebook to hand and i'm on hols in an hour or two so a brief overview as follows
We lose the toss - thank the Lord
They bat first and get off to a good start thanks to dreadful Rogers
Monty reigns them in whilst Ward takes the first wicket
Re-building despite Monty's beauty
Halfway point 90 odd for 2
Raj (5) and Ash (1) take a few wickets and 150 a/o is likely
Young Chesham pups rebuild again and 220 is on
They get 188 in 52
Our Superstars do nothing - Ketteringham (0), Fleming (5),Colquohoun (4)
21-3 suggest Chesham are going up
Haddock is beautiful (sixes everywhere)
Dolley nurdles for 20 or so
Ward fails
Monty and Haddock take us to within 36 but Haddock falls (80) to the impressive Rance
Monty smashes it for a brilliant 45* and Ash scores the winning runs with 20*
