Match report This was also going to be a tough fixture away to the undefeated league leaders Harefield. Although we had assembled one of the strongest Sunday teams of the season, we were no match essentially a Harefield Saturday 1st XI.

Opening up, Stephan and Adam looked comfortable scoring at a good rate before both falling. Bruce and Hugh were notable in the middle for their runs, but wickets fell at bad times and we only managed to post 196. Roughly 40 runs short on the good pitch and short boundary at Harefield.

In response, Harefield displayed a strong run chase, batting in partnerships and looking positive at all times. Sham was the pick of the bowlers having dismissed a Harefield opener with the ball of the day; pitching on middle and leg and seaming away to hit the top of off. However, having given away penalty runs in the 30th over for a ball hitting the helmet, it was not to be our day.

The loss is a hard pill to swallow but, owing to other results, if we win our last game in a fortnight at home we will be promoted. Carrnnnn Sham.
