Scorecard

Kew 2 v AMERSHAM CC Saturday 2nd X1 on Sat 26 Aug 2006 at
AMERSHAM CC Won 6 Wkts

Match report Amersham 2nds kept their promotion hopes alive with a slightly nervy but ultimately resounding victory over rivals Kew that left Amersham in second place with just 2 games left.

Having elected to bat Kew got away to a rapid start to move to 41-0 before Farris was superbly caught by Henry Capper of the bowling of Bulman to precipitate a remarkable change in the progress of the Kew innings. Superb pressure was exerted by Bulman ( 6-46) and Rajabali (4-8) to bowl out the hosts for 92, well backed up by some keen ground fielding and excellent glovework from Henry Capper who claimed 5 victims behind the stumps.

In reply Amersham were wobbling ever so slightly at 25-4 against a good Kew opening attack, but were then seen through to victory by 6 wickets by some glorious strokeplay by Jack Kilgannon ( 44no) who alone made batting seem easy, supported by some occasionally sensible batting by skipper Weston to see Amersham through to victory.
