Match report Another excellent performance with bat and ball saw Amersham 3rd XI record a comfortable 7 wicket victory over British Airways at Little Kingshill on Saturday to further consolidate their mid-table position and give reasonable grounds for optimism for the second half of the season.

The highlight of the day unquestionably came in the 17th over which saw Duncan Ward take his 1000th senior wicket for Amersham, courtesy of a smart low catch diving to his right by Adam Crossley off a trademark Ward delivery that swung late both ways before deviating straight to leave the batsman thoroughly perplexed. It was a wonderful moment for Wardy and he richly deserves all the praise that will undoubtedly come his way for achieving this fantastic landmark. The Amersham bowlers in future games that Wardy plays in can now surely look forward to far greater involvement :)

In other news from Little Kingshill, Rob Hall bowled a great spell to return figures of 3-30 from 13 overs; Sam Rance marked his debut with a visit from the Alpaca Welfare society; Graeme McPhillips and Nugs didn't run particularly well; Adam Crossley further promoted his allrounder status; Nugs batted well; Joe Weston and Vimal combined to take a crucial wicket and the skipper lost the toss again.
