Match report I was there! I was there the day Harry Heslop scored his first ever century, and what's more I was batting with him at the time. Brilliant.

A combination of youth, more youth, a bit more youth, nobody in their 20's and a few older hands took on Ruislip in the first league match of the season. The captain won the toss and inserted the opposition who were pegged back by the nagging experience of Charlie Holloway and youthful exhuberance of Stuart Rogers..........but wickets didn't fall. Not that is until Jack Rogers came on who, magnificently supported by Joe Breckenridge with three wickets, two in succession, took four crucially timed Ruislip wickets between them. Ruislip declared on 216 for 6 in their 52 overs.

In reply the 'turds' were in a spot of bother at 42 for 2 but a stand of 178 (is it a record?) between Harry and the Captain saw the visitors to victory by 8 wickets with Harry scoring the winning runs and completing his century at the same stroke off just 43 overs.

Not enough ale was bought by the virgin centurion to celebrate this momentous day but no doubt he will make up for this minor blemish when his body allows him to move freely enough to reach his wallet!
