Match report What a memorable day! David Mackintosh found his form (class is permanent they say) and the skipper broke a couple of records.

Amidst cries of "send someone else out next time" and "you lousy tosser" NPL chose to bat on a scorching day at Barn Meadow. After 8 overs with the score fast approaching 80 ACC were staring down the barrel looking to chase 300+.............until, that is, some wily leg spin from Robbie Marsh bowling 22 unchanged overs for only 67 brought the NPL innings back under control. He was helped by Sidey's darts and Alex Rogers outswing both from the pavilion end and the NPL innings finished on a respectable but not insurmountable 243 for 3 from 52 overs. Robbie will bowl a lot worse and take more wickets!

In reply Harry and Pipes must have sensed some sort of destiny was about to unfold as they generously gave up their wickets to allow 120 years of experience in David Mack and the skipper to set about the NPL bowling. And set about it they did with the skipper hitting 9 sixes and 19 fours in scoring 157 not out whilst DM played the perfect anchor man's role in making 70 before being bowled with the match virtually won. The pair had added 215 in just 29 overs and ACC cruised to victory by 7 wickets with 8 overs to spare.

The two records? Oh yes, 157 was a PB for the skipper in 50+ years of playing the game and when he'd scored 103 he became the leading run scorer for the club overtaking the late great Peter Jackson's 20622.

Amusing side issue? Alex Rogers, no 6, pads on, constantly letting it be known to all and sundry that she wished her father would get out so she could have a go. Not a chance!
