AMERSHAM CC

Scorecard

Hayes 3 v AMERSHAM CC Saturday 3rd X1 on Sat 21 Aug 2010 at 12:30
Match was Drawn

Match report The Hayes captain who required 25 points to try to get back in touch with promotion, won the toss batted first and failed to declare in reaching 253 for 7 from the full quota of 52 overs! Not the most attacking captaincy! Colin Matthews was the star bowler and work horse bowling 21 overs straight off conceding just 66 runs and picking up 3 useful wickets. Felix also bowled well at the death without any luck but lots of guile!
The Amersham response got off to a brisk start with Neil Palmer stroking his way to 46, Insi maintained the momentum with an excellent 70 before being undone by one that kept a bit low! The captain had joined him at the wicket by this time and Amersham were well placed to win in a tight finish however with just 5 required from the final over he was caught off the first ball and Amersham failed by just two runs to achieve a well deserved win.
Apologies from the captain for not seeing the side home and also to Baggie for running him out in such comprehensive fashion.
Cheers Renny
