AMERSHAM CC Won 100 Runs

Match report In the first match of the season Amersham performed superbly to trounce Marlow Town - the newly combined Colts section of Marlow & Marlow Park. Despite the loss of a couple of early wickets a 90 run partnership was established between Ashley Turney & Elliot Ayling who were both dismissive of any short bowling of which there was quite a lot! Although they both fell before the end of the innings, they had built a total between them that proved far too many for Marlow. A late cameo for Joe Baldwin allowed him some time in the middle and the Amersham innings finished on a very respectable 137.
A combination of miserly and accurate bowling from Amersham, together with some sharp fielding and suicidal running by Marlow (3 run outs)restricted the visitors to 37 all out.
Let's hope we can keep up the momentum during the season.
Men of the match awards for Ayling, Turney & Cuthbert, ably supported by the whole team and I am especially grateful to those who turned out at the last minute to get a full side out.
