Match report A very enjoyable friendly game at home against Stony Stratford. After winning the toss we followed the popular trend of Sunday cricket and batted first.

We posted an above par total of 225 off the allotted 40 overs; mainly due to some aggressive batting from Alex Lines, Chris Owen and Stuart Rogers. Rob Lloyd provided a flourish with the bat towards the latter stages and set us up with momentum to go into the second half.

Due to renovations to the pavilion, there was no kitchen available at Shardeloes. Alex Rogers kindly stepped up to provide the teas to 22 cricketers, with great precision. Notable items included a cheeseboard, chicken legs and a large Jaffa Cake.

Many Amersham members may look at our bowling card with some confusion; I assure you there is no error. Ben Langley took the new ball for his honorary over of the season and managed to pick up a caught and bowled off the sixth ball. That is now 3 overs, 2 for 6 taking into account the past three seasons; a real go-to bowler. Stephan had a good day behind the sticks showing that he has skills with the gloves. As for the bowlers, Jack bowled great lines for little reward but when the scoreboard pressure started to mount we managed to take wickets. Chris Owen finishing with figures with 2 for 22 and Phil Lloyd with a very impressive 1 for 23. As Whoo and Limesy ended the game with a bit of competitive spin we had the game wrapped up with 61 runs to the better.

Last league game next week and a must win!
