Gerrards Cross v AMERSHAM CC Saturday 1st X1 on Sat 26 Aug 1995 at
AMERSHAM CC Lost by 22 runs
Match report
Amersham’s charge towards the Thames Valley Second Division title suffered a setback at Gerrards Cross on Saturday. Despite four wickets apiece from Tim Aylott and Duncan Ward and an impressive half-century from Matt Ash, Amersham were unable to match a modest total from the home side.
At 117-3 league leaders Amersham looked set for their fifth straight win but disaster struck with two run-outs and then Renny Adams was bowled for 16 to leave them at 118-6. Defiant batting from the later batsmen was not enough to stave off defeat.
This saw Amersham slip to second in the table, five points behind Cove and 18 ahead of Hurst.
