Match report First of all thanks to the stalwart parents of the group who managed to get us a team of 10 on a friday evening after a battle around the M25 from St Albans.
At 18:00, the appointed hour, we had 3 players and by 18:45, we had ten, so having started with a slightly unusual opening pairing of Ayling & Baldwin, we got away to a flyer and never looked like having any problems. Both Baldwin & Turney had to retire having amassed the 30+ that demands that they do and Elliot(21) having gone for one big one too many, the final runs were added by Lloyd & Turney as we cruised to a very challenging total of 163 - this could have been somewhat less had the opposition clung onto any of the 9 catches that they dropped throughout our innings!
The Chalfont innings came apart after 6 overs, by which time they were 17-7, with wickets falling very regularly and despite some rearguard action by their lower order they were dismissed for 48 - a very disciplined display by ACC and pointing to some players already being ready to contemplate, perhaps, some senior non-league cricket through this summer.
Well done boys - a narrow loss to Chenies & Latimer and a weakened team loss to the strong Ballinger have probably denied us trophies this season, but there is much pronmise for the future.
