Match report Amersham’s started their Sunday league campaign with a rather convincing win over Mill Hill Village.

Amersham lost the toss and were made to field first. A rather loose opening spell from Alex lines in particular allowed Mill Hill to get off to a quick start. Despite S Rogers claiming one of the opening batsmen, Mill Hill began to dominate the Amersham attack. Abhay Mayer slowed the rate with some disciplined bowling along with A Viney. H Jackson and A Lines continued to bowl well, however the poor first 25/30 over’s saw Mill Hill post a very challenging score of 263.

The Mill Hill players were very happy at tea thinking that they had already won, they weren’t smiling for very long as R Viney (130) and B Matthews (55) smashed their bowling to all parts of the field. Some impressive stroke play and brute force took Amersham to 133 after just 13 over’s. Despite losing a few wickets the batsmen that followed continued to play expansive strokes helping R Viney to complete the chase. The Mill Hill players were stunned as Amersham got to their target in just 31 over’s.
