Match report Amersham entertained Alexandra Park CC in their second league game. Amersham won the toss and elected to bat.

The Matthews brothers opened the innings yet they found it difficult to play their strokes. They were both out within the first 4 over’s. Stuart Rogers had a rare chance to impress up the order being put in at number 3, he too found it hard the play his natural game and fell shortly after. Abhay Mayer (122) and Hugh Jackson (113) played exceptionally well, playing patiently at times whilst dispatching any loose bowling. The last 5 over’s gave Amersham the opportunity to use their wickets in hand to put the game out of reach for the opposition. C Owen was unlucky to recieve two very devient balls and was caught before A Viney (16) smashed 2 sixes in a row before being caught out. R. VIney (41) really did help Amersham post a colossal total of 334 by dispatching the last over for 30 runs (5 sixes).

Amersham opened their attack with A Lines and Alex Tilbury both bowling very well. Each bowler that came on kept the run rate down including part time bowlers R Viney and C Owen. C Owen bowled exceptionall well taking 4 wickets and could now be a regular spin option. Alexandra Park never really went for the target making for a slightly dull second innings, Amersham did manage to bowl the opposition out for 129 and continued their convincing run in the chess valley Sunday league.
