Match report One of Amersham's less convincing batting displays saw them slip to defeat at High Wycombe in a game that was there for the winning after a good performance in the field. A propensity for hitting the ball in the air led to 6 Amersham batsmen falling to catches and only one partnership of over 50, between Chris Owen (57) and Andy Viney (24) was not enough to successfully chase 198.

Earlier in the game High Wycombe had found scoring quickly difficult as good bowling from Alex Lines (1-24), David Atkinson (2-56) and, particularly, Abhay Mayer (2-65 from 20 overs). Only Russell Curzon-Thompson (101) put together a major innings, and his century anchored the Wycombe innings. Mark Morgan (35) tried to add impetus and momentum but wickets fell often enough to prevent a large total being accumulated. One highlight of the game from Amersham's point of view was the quality of the fielding. On a hard, fast outfield the standard of fielding was excellent, with very few runs being conceded to poor work, and astute positioning from captain Luke Jackson combining to frustrate Wycombe's attempts to score quickly.
