Match report Amersham secured their first win of the season with a blend of youth and experience. Amersham won the toss and elected to bat first. Nick Piper and Paul Weston made a steady start on the wet wicket with Weston wearing as many as his struck to the boundary. Piper was the first to fall when the score was on 28. Henry Breckenridge joined Weston but struggled to adapt to the conditions. Duncan Ward then joined Weston and both got their heads down to build a partnership of 87 in 17 overs. Weston batted very well in the conditions on his way to 60. Ward fell for 27 to a good catch on the boundary. Weston was joined by Ian Rogers who was soon in his stride stroking the ball to the boundary with relative ease. Ian went on to score 61 and Amersham ended their 40 overs with 218 on the board.

Amersham opened the bowling with Stuart and Alex Rogers who both bowled well to restrict Kidmore End's scoring opportunities but without being able to break the opening partnership. Rob Lloyd came into the attack and immediately took a wicket in his first over and then another in his second over while Mustapha Rajabali kept it tight from the other end. Lloyd finished his good spell by taking a third wicket. It was then left to the experience of Rajabali and Ward to make sure that Kidmore End could not chase down the target. Ward finished taking 4 wickets as Amersham came out as comfortable winners.
