Match report Cryptics sent a strong squad to Shardeloes batted well then rolled us over cheaply who didn't! The skipper dropped a ferociously difficult slip chance off son Jack and those present were astonished that the old boy even got two hands to it and then a more difficult one-handed attempt diving some say falling to his left off the other son Stuart. Then Jack dropped a dolly off Stuart and amid accusations of secret membership of the Cryptics the Rogers' family allowed them to amass 266 runs.

In reply Alex Lines was given the opportunity to open the batting and fell plumb LBW off the middle of the bat early on which was a relief to everybody because had he scored runs he would have been unbearable! Only Ben Matthews made any contribution with the willow scoring a sound 77 before we were dismissed for a miserable 158.

The good thing about the game was the strength of the opposition for a Sunday game. Long may it continue.
