Match report It was an overcast and rather late meet for most as our normal Sunday of rocking up and playing was slightly different this week as we were playing in the National Club Championship. Collison lost the toss and Ickenham decided they wanted to have a bat something we were going to ask them to do if we had one anyway so a good start. However after 3 overs Ickenham had raced to 40 for 0 and Amersham were wondering how many they would have to chase. Jack and Stuart Rogers then decided to bowl properly and not like Alex Lines had the day before and ripped through their top order and Ickenham had somehow managed to add 5 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. 3 wickets to Jack and 2 to Stuart. Unfortunately Amersham switched off and Ickenham again gained control as their number 7 blasted 98 before the first lot of rain come down having played in drizzle for nearly 10 overs. We came off for an hour and everyone was ready to try to work out the required net run rate and possible total. We managed to get on for another 2 overs before finally the rain put paid to the game. The match will now be played next Sunday. My thanks goes to Alex for scoring and Ickenham for re-arranging the game otherwise a coin toss would have decided the outcome. Heres to better weather next week.
