AMERSHAM CC Lost by 98 runs

Match report As this report is being written ten weeks late you may say I am looking into the past. Even if I had written it in a timely fashion I would still have been looking into the past. A batting line-up including Adams, Rogers (best in family), Somani, Ward, Weston and Stephenson had a combined age of, ooh, too many to count. This could be seen as Windsor benefited from some accommodating fielding at the start of their innings. 80 came up for 1 inside 12 overs and a mammoth score looked inevitable. But never forget Duncan Ward. He bowled immaculately to take 7 wickets in 25 overs. At times he appeared to be flagging but a few inspirational words and another wicket kept him going. If Hill had not added 34 at ten and Care 27 at eight Ward could have given Amersham a total of around one hundred to chase.
The less said about the batting display the better. Sidey did well to get 30, Rogers, Adams and Ward looked comfortable against some brain dead, short pitched bowling and that was that. Windsor outplayed Amersham comfortably and despite the fast bowler with a typical fast bowlers intelligence they seemed a good bunch so I wish them the best of luck for the rest of the year.
