Match report A disappointing day at Farnham Common! Having lost the toss Amersham were put in the field by the Farnham captain who at the time only had 9 players!
We didnt bowl well at the start of the innings and the fielding was also not the best! Consequently Farnham got off to a flyer. With wides and byes contributing 65 to the Farnham total!Joe Baldwin and Felix both bowled well and we thought we were through the Farnham line up at 217 for 7, however two more batsman appeared from over the fence and eventually Farnham posted a huge total of 296.
After tea Farnham took the field with 9 men the extra two batters having disappeared back over the fence, bizarre!
Amersham got off to a bright start with Henry, David and Tom scoring freely to keep us up with the rate. With Ian (68) and Mustak (31) well on top it looked likely that Amersham would cruise home, but unfortunately both fell within three overs of each other and the chase proved beyond the remaining batsmen.
We didnt field or bowl well enough in this match and ultimately were chasing too many runs, so must do better on that front for the rest of the season!
