Match report Amersham 2nds entertained Ruislip on a glorious day at Shardeloes and with a strong looking side on paper at his disposal skipper Ben Langley had little hesitation in opting to bat. The Amersham openers started steadliy against some tight bowling and when Langley (12 )departed it brought in Dan Colquhoun (41) for his seasonal debut and together with Nick Nguyen (50) they built an excellent 2nd wicket partnership of 102 with both particularly keen to punish anything pitched short. Both departed soon after one another and this brought together Paul Langley (85 no)who continued his excellent early season form with the bat and Weston (36) who together added a further 100 for the 4th wicket. The final six overs brought a flurry of runs and the declaration was made at the end of the 50th over.

The Ruislip openers got off to a quick start against the opening spin attack in pursuit of their total and put on 61 before a combination of good bowling ( Rogers in particular), smart fielding and well taken catches saw the match turn decisively in Amersham's favour, with the last 9 wickets falling for under 100 runs, and Amersham were able to celebrate their first victory of the season and a well deserved 25 points.

Next week brings the short trip to local rivals Chesham for what is alaways a keenly fought local derby.
