Match report Amersham 2s who currently lied third in the league table saw second placed Burnham 3s vist Shardeloes on a wonderful sunny afternoon.

Burnham won the toss and decided to bat on what looked like a good deck for batting. A couple of well deserved wickets for Ward (2-42) which included an LBW dismissal judged to be out by the chairman, provided us with a good start -thank you Mr.Rogers. 2 Burnham batsman held their innings together and at one stage it looked like they could reach the 250 mark. However the reliable Atkinson (3-55) managed to take 3 wickets in 4 balls to result in us finally taking the tenth wicket in the 52nd and final over. 213 runs scored by Burnham, a satisfactory first half but a difficult run chase lay ahead.

Nguyen (21) and Shuttle (15) got Amersham of to a positive start against the Burnham spinners. Nguyen was caught at cover in the tenth over with 40 on the board - enter Chris Fleming. No one knew what to expect as he had been at Lords the previous day witnessing the Kiwis actually beating England at a game of cricket for once. Apart from the Burnham skipper putting down a caught and bowled chance when Fleming was on 0, there was no looking back from there and being very well supported by Weston (47) he hit the ball to all parts of the picturesque Shardeloes ground. One of the Burnham fielders also assisted his run tally by palming a catch over the ropes for six.

Fleming finishing on 102 not out and fully deservedthe champagne moment for a brilliant ton. 3 wins in a row and starting to build some real momentum and belief. We visit Farnham Royal on Saturday looking to make it four to hopefully climb into the leagues top 2 places.
