Match report Amersham won the toss and had little hesitation in batting first on a dry hard deck at Shardeloes.

Nguyen (55) and Fleming (36) set the base for a good score which was followed by Player (36) and A Tilbury (30) who accelerated towards the end of the innings to see us post a very competitive 228 from the full 52 overs.

Raza (2-37) and Atkinson (5-35) opened the bowling to great effect and we soon had Cookham Dean in disarray at 40-5. Atko especially impressing bowling from the cornfield end with 'turn' and bounce.

The oppositions sixth wicket partnership was frustrating and it seemed at one point that the game would be drawn until Sham (3-8) had Cookham's number six edge a ball to Colquhoun at third slip which hit him and ballooned up to an alert Tilbury at gully who dived forward and took a very impressive catch. That was the crucial breakthrough and from then on we took regular wickets and although it took a while to get the final wicket we completed the task of bowling them out with 5.1 overs to spare.

Another impressive performance both with the bat, ball and in the field. We must keep the level of performance high especially as we travel to second place Farnham Royal on Saturday knowing that a win could give us a very healthy lead at the top.
