Match report A strong looking Amersham 2's travelled to second place Farnham Royal knowing that a win could increase our lead at the top of Division 4A. We lost the toss and bowled first.

Considering we fielded with ten men for over an hour on a hot day we put in a fantastic display. Sham arrived at the ground late due to an earlier school game that over ran. However we restricted the Farnham top order to approximately 2 runs an over for the first 18 overs. Ward (1-28) and J Rogers (1-16) bowled impressive lines and lengths which put us in control from the very start. This was followed up by equally impressive bowling once again by Raza (4-41) who keeps getting better every game and Sundiram/Danstan (2-33) who is proving to be a fantastic addition to our side. The fielding was brilliant and the catching was superb especially by Player who snatched 3 beauties. We bowled Farnham Royal out for 124 in the 50th over.

Our chase with the bat stuttered and four early wickets saw us in a worrying position at 48-4. Farnham had their backs up and were sensing an upset. However Sundiram (44) and A Ali (31 n.o.) had other ideas and batted superbly together to put us into a match winning position. Ali's top edged six over mid wicket tied the scores and a single the ball after secured victory for Amersham by 5 wickets.

A really important win and another very impressive performance. The tough games keep on coming and next week will see us on our travels once again and this time to visit Datchet. I am delighted with the level of performance so far this season. Make sure we keep it up!
