Match report A difficult day at the office. Ickhemham were earlier than us, scored more runs that us, and took more wickets that us. We still have more hatchets than them.

We turned up on a wet Sunday morning to play a strong Ickenham side. As captain it would have been nice to win the toss; a damp pitch, slightly overcast and having lost every toss so far. After the 'Mother cricket' played her part once again, we were batting.

The ball moved around. The middle of the pitch was soft. We lost quite a few wickets early on. Resistance was shown by Andy Viney and Luke Jackson in the middle overs, and once again by a resilient partnership between Mohnish and Raza. 116 all out.

The interval saw all players enjoying a superbly timed cricket tea, made by Denise. Freshness guaranteed.

As the pitch started to dry out, it became increasingly apparent that it was a bad toss to lose. Robbie Marsh's quick-fire 3-for couldn't prevent an easy Ickenham victory.

Friendly against the Jesters next week.
