Match report A great day for cricket, and a victorious end to the season under Plangers' captaincy.

After losing the toss, fielding was inevitable. Both teams had spent the majority of the working week trying to field a team and it meant that Amersham provided 13 players for this match. Raza was kind enough to join the Free Foresters and represent a different team. Ed Langley also made his Amersham debut.

Once the game commenced, Duncan bowled like eagle (9a-ism), always threatening the stumps and made the breakthrough by dismissing one of their openers cheaply. We soon realised that the other opener was a serious player, and he had made a ton before Duncan had removed his jumper. David Atkinson always looked dangerous and managed 3 wickets. Some fireworks at the end of the innings saw the oppo make 274 for 5 declared.

A big mention has to go to Paul Weston for preparing 'Westy's Chilli' (still waiting for the side of great chat) for lunch, a good tea in the afternoon, and for just being a good bloke all round.

We started our runs chase quite poorly; losing 5 wickets for not many runs. At 69 for 6, not many Amersham players (and there were lots of them) were very hopeful of a win. However, Luke Jackson (137) supported by Duncan Ward (56) managed to pull us out of trouble with a display of aggressive batting. By the time they were both dismissed, Amersham required 7 off the last over. Helped by Ed Langley on his debut (14*) and Atko hitting a 4 off the last ball of the match, we managed to pull off an unexpected win.

Great season gents, looking forward to 2015 already.
