Match report A rather cold and cloudy Sharedeloes welcomed a friendly Downsiders team who won last year by 7 wickets. After an inspired team talk, the boys were ready to work hard for a Sunday friendly win. Not Blangie though. Blangie turned up late; something about International Blangie Day. Breakfast in Berkhamsted on 24th May is obligatory for IBD and so winning the toss became even more important. I did, and we batted first.

Maduka opened up with some flamboyance and we saw our total rocket to 50 - 0 off 6 overs. Both openers died by the sword and were dismissed in quick succession, however the runs kept coming through a middle order partnership of Hugh Jackson (38) and Stuart Rogers (95*) who smashed the ball to all parts of the ground.

In response, the Downsiders batted well with their captain top scoring after a flurry of straight sixes. After Stuart and Maduka applied the pressure in the middle overs, Hugh and Adam Ali finished the job with the final four wickets to see a home win by 21 runs.

Jesters next week in our final friendly before the league season starts.
