Match report Amersham put up a spirited performance but were eventually overwhelmed by a strong Kew side at home on Saturday. After winning the toss and electing to bat Kew were taken to a competitive total by opening batsman Friederich who reached a composed century before being bizarrely run out attempting a fifth run. Amersham were indebted to spinner Rajabali whose marathon spell restricted all the batsmen and picked up four wickets.


In reply, Amersham were confronted by a formidable Kew seam attack and slumped to 85-6 despite Jackson's aggressive 41. However, a spirited lower innings revival sparked by a 70-run partnership between Todd Kruger and Chris Owen took Amersham to 200 - the first occasion Kew have conceded maximum batting points this season - before Kew finally claimed victory.
