Match report Amersham earned a hard-fought victory against NPL Lensbury at Shardeloes to maintain their winning start to the league season. Good opening spells from Sam Davis and Duncan Ward restricted the visitors to 56-2 at the halfway stage, and only Woolatt, who struck 45 not out, batted with any authority. The highlight of the innings was Ward's fabulous one-handed catch on the boundary to dismiss Churchman.

Amersham's innings got off to a poor start as Klimke took 3 early wickets, but at 19-3 Rob Viney and Ian Rogers were brought together and they added 97 for the 4th wicket. Rogers, despite injuring his calf, made a brave 39, and Viney was eventually dismissed for 87, but not before he'd almost single-handedly guided Amersham to the brink of victory, in an innings of maturity well beyond his 16 years.
