Match report Amersham II crashed to their first league defeat of the season on a dreary afternoon at Chalfont St Peter.

Amersham were asked to bat first on a damp and uneven track, and struggled initially against the new ball. But the middle order of Renny Adams (36), Ian Rogers (40) and Jerry Alwyn (36) recovered well, and thanks to calculated hitting from Jamie Toates (19) and Charlie Holloway (15) they reached 200 and collected the full 10 batting points.

The visitors looked on course for victory when Chalfont struggled to 20-2, thanks to two clinical catches behind the stumps from Ben Langley. Unfortunately from then on, the bowlers struggled to find length and line, and Ali (115*) and Peters (64*) took full advantage of the loose balls, to win the game with an unbroken partnership of 181.
