Match report Amersham gave league leaders North Maidenhead a scare before being beaten with 4 balls to go in a thrilling match. North Maidenhead won the toss and elected to field first. This looked like a good decision as Amersham soon lost their 1st wicket with the score on 8. At 21 - 2 Chris Owen and Andrew Warner looked to steady the innings. Once Warner was out wickets fell regularly and Amersham were struggling at 89 - 6. Evan Hamilton Pike was joined by Duncan Ward in an attempt to rescue the innings and post a decent total. They pushed the score on to 115 before Hamilton Pike was out. Ward managed the strike and added 60 runs with the tail in so doing making a vital 56.
North Maidenhead's reply got off to shaky start with Mustapha Rajabali taking a wicket with the score on 11. Malpass and Martin then batted well to reach 54 before Rajabali struck again. Rudd quickly followed to make it 60 - 3. Martin carried on hitting boundaries before he became Rajabali's 4th victim. Broom and Shaw then saw North Maidenhead to within 50 runs of victory before Ward had Broom bowled and then had carter caught by Warner to make it 138 - 6. The match was in the balance but Shaw and Rickman batted well to see North Maidenhead home with 4 balls to spare.
