Scorecard

Wooburn Narkovians 1st v AMERSHAM CC Saturday 1st X1 on Sat 30 Apr 2005 at 1:00pm
AMERSHAM CC Won 77 Runs

Match report After beating Chesham last week, Amersham beat Wooburn Narkovians by 77 runs. Amersham won the toss and elected to bat first on a very wet wicket and soon came to grief losing 3 wickets for 25 runs. Rob Viney and Chris Owen steadied the innings with a 50 partnership before Viney was out. Chris Owen batted brilliantly in difficult conditions to register 101 not out as Amersham declared at 176 - 9. This gave the Amersham bowlers something to defend.
Wooburn's reply got off to a poor start losing their opener in the first over. Amersham made the most of the conditions in restricting runs and making life difficult for the batsmen. After good opening spells from Ward and Atkinson, Nick Moore and Jamie Toates ripped out the middle order to leave Wooburn struggling at 69 - 5.Wooburn were unable to recover and were finally dismissed for 99. It was a good work out for all the bowlers and Amersham are looking forward to hosting Chalfont St Peter in their opening league game on saturday.
