Match report Amersham started their league campaign with a comprehensive win over local rivals Chalfont St Peter. Chalfont St Peter won the toss and elected to bat first and soon regretted the decision as they lost their first wicket to the third ball of the innings with Rob Viney taking a good catch at slip off Tom Dixon's bowling.
David Atkinson making his league debut for Amersham was soon amongst the wickets as Chalfont struggled. By the end of the eight over Chalfont were reduced to 6 - 4 as Atkinson took 3 quick wickets without conceding a run. Chalfont made a slight recovery with Sharma and S Ahmed adding 31 for the fifth wicket before Atkinson struck again.

Mustapha Rajabali joined the attack and soon reduced Chalfont to 37 - 6. F Ahmed and M Ahmed decided the best policy was to hit out and added 37 before M Ahmed was run out to make it 74 - 7. Rajabali then had F Ahmed caught on the boundary by Dixon and had Puri LBW to make it 83 - 9. Nick Moore wrapped up the innings with a fine stumping from Andy Robertson to leave Chalfont 92 all out.

Amersham's reply got off to a good start with Rob Viney and Andy Robertson adding 28 in 7 overs before Robertson holed out. Viney and Chris Owen took the score to 43 before Viney was out. Owen and Dan Colquhuon looked to have things under control adding 20 runs before Colquhuon gave a simple chance to mid wicket that was gratefully received. Luke Jackson came in and went for a big shot early on and was caught at point to leave the score at 65 - 4. Chris Owen and Paul Weston made sure there were no further wobbles and saw Amersham home with plenty of overs to go.
