Match report Amersham secured a return to Division 1 with a draw against Tring Park. Amersham are now 25 points clear of second place Fleet but cannot be overhauled as they have won more games during the season.
Tring Park won the toss and asked Amersham to bat first. Rob Viney and Andy Robertson opened and got Amersham off to a steady start putting on 36 for the first wicket before Viney was out in the 11th over. Robertson and Chris Owen continued Amersham steady progress adding 42 before Robertson was out in the 22 over for 35.

Chris Owen then anchored the innings scoring 57 as the others chipped in with everyone making a contribution. Tring Park came back well and restricted Amersham to 195 all out to fall just shy of maximum batting points.

Tring also got off to a steady start as Amersham opened the bowling with spin from Dave Atkinson and Nick Moore. Tring had reached 25 without loss from 12 overs when Amersham took the new ball. It had an immediate effect as Tom Dixon took a wicket in his first over and Duncan Ward took another wicket 5 overs later. Tring were 61 - 2 from 19 over. Tom Dixon followed this up taking his second wicket and Tring were 70 - 3 from 24 overs. The game was finely balanced as Tring needed 126 from 24 overs to win and Amersham required 7 wickets.

Harper and Bushe batted sensibly and slowly chipped away at the target and had reached 118 before Nick Moore removed Harper. With 10 overs left Tring now required 78 and had wickets in hand. Plumridge and Bushe looked to attack the Amersham bowling and had reached 150 with 6 overs left. Dave Atkinson then changed the game as he took 3 wickets in an over and Amersham were now looking at victory. Nick Moore then applied more pressure as he took 2 wickets in the 46th over and Amersham were now one wicket away from victory. Despite Amersham's best efforts the Tring Park batsmen saw out the last two over for a draw.
