Match report Amersham kept in touch with the leaders in Div 2 of the HCPL with an exciting victory over Buckingham Town on Saturday. Buckingham batted first and made good use of an excellent pitch to score steadily and it wasn't until the introduction of the returning Haseeb Ali that Amersham made the first break through. Continuing at 5 runs per over for most of their innings Buckingham finished on 270 for 5 from their allotted 50 overs with Stuart Rogers (2-42) and Haseeb (2-44) being the pick of the bowlers.

In reply Amersham lost both openers Adam Ali and Paul Langley for just 39 but a stand by the in form Viney brothers of 167 put the home side in control. However when Rob Viney was out for an excellent 88 Amersham went from 206-3 to 234-7 with a few jitters going around the home dressing room. Andy Viney was then out for 90 with the score on 258 and 13 needed to win. Time for the bowling all rounders and Stuart Rogers and Haseeb Ali saw the home side to a comfortable victory by two wickets with three balls to spare, Haseeb hitting an enormous six in the last over.

Second now by just three points to Aston Rowant who visit Shardeloes next Saturday. Big match!
