Match report A dismal day and an ultimately dismal result best sums up a thumping defeat at the hands of North Maidenhead 2nds.

After losing the toss (twice!!) and being asked to bowl first on a hastily prepared reserve ground & wicket, Duncan Ward, Roy Sundiram and Joe Weston all picked up 3 wickets apiece and Amersham were reasonably happy at tea having bowled out the opposition for 119. The home attack then exploited tricky batting conditions to leave the Amersham innings in tatters at 8-5 inside the first 7 overs and from there the outcome was inevitable, with only Roy Sundiram putting up any real resistance. It would be easy to blame a damp wicket or a lack of application, but in truth that would be a disservice to some excellent swing bowling from Khan who finished with 6-15. All ten dismissals were either bowled or LBW with not a rash shot played. Sometimes you just have to take your medicine and move on.
