Match report Amersham travelled to Old Midwhitgifians in the second round of the National Club Knockout Cup on Sunday and lost by 5 wickets. Amersham lost the toss and were asked to bat first. They soon found themselves in trouble at 45 -4 with Gardner and Westlake bowling well. Rob Viney and John Andrews batted sensibly to get Amersham past 100 with a stand of 63. Andrews fell in the 32nd over leaving Rob Viney to anchor the innings. With some lusty blows from Duncan Ward at the end Amersham managed to reach 166 - 8.

OMW CC opening pair made it look an easy total to reach with patient batting and good running between the wickets. With Trend having to retire hurt and Nick Moore being introduced to the attack Amersham were back in the game but the rain breaks didn't help and made bowling difficult. Despite a spirited display Amersham still lost but positives to take into their first league game are young Rob Viney's batting and Nick Moore's bowling display.
