Match report Amersham CC had a successful weekend winning both their matches in a double header against local rivals Chesham. Their 1st XI won by 3 wickets and their 2nd XI by 5.

At Chesham, the home side batted first and were immediately under pressure from some fine opening bowling by Sam Helm (2-19) and Stuart Rogers (3-22). Only Robin Pritchard who made a battling 56 coped with the Amersham bowlers but after his dismissal the Chesham innings came to a close on 147 all out. This should not have been a difficult run chase for the visitors but at 5 for 3 Amersham were in all sorts of trouble. However a stand of 50 between Bruce Friderichs (22) and Maduka Liyanapathirage (70) brought Amersham back into the match and with 20 from the promising 17 year old Max John it was left to the experienced pairing of Chris Owen and Stuart Rogers to see Amersham home with 9 balls to spare.

At Shardeloes, Chesham 2nd XI were cruising at 100 for 3 off just 18 overs with Andy Goddard (59) looking in good touch. However his dismissal put a halt to the Chesham charge and they were finally bowled out for 182. Rich Stephenson (46) got the Amersham reply off to a good start but it was a stand of 95 between the Jackson brothers Hugh (57) and Luke (56*) that enabled Amersham to cruise to victory by 5 wickets with 17 overs to spare.

And the 3rd XI also won chasing down the Slough 3rd XI total of 221 winning by 1 wicket with ex Chesham man Graham Rance making 98 not out.
