AMERSHAM CC

Scorecard

Hillingdon v AMERSHAM CC Saturday 1st X1 on Sat 01 Jul 1995 at
AMERSHAM CC Won by 8 wickets

Match report Amersham returned to winning ways with a crushing eight-wicket victory at Hillingdon to stay fourth in the league. A good all-round performance was again led by Jon Atkins who made 81.

Tim Aylott reduced the home side to 7-3 with an early burst. Sam Martin picked up three wickets as Hillingdon adopted a cavalier attitude to their batting. They seemed intent on hitting every ball to the boundary but found Amersham’s bowling hard to counter. Only a late raly from Lonsdale gave them respectability.

In reply Amersham never looked in any trouble with Atkins in superlative form. He dominated the home bowling in his opening partnership with Peter Butler, who had returned after a five week absence. Butler was eventually run out for 38 and Atkins dismissed for 81, leaving skipper Jeremy Fisher to hit the winning runs with some 30 overs to spare.
