Match report An historic moment for Amersham CC - I believe that this is the first U10 League match that we have played and a splendid performance was put up by the team. Winchmore Hill had already played one U10 match last week, so were accustomed to what was necessary, but Amersham were more than a match for them. I was very impressed with the calm & discipline of the teams and unlike some games that I have seen in years gone by, there were no silly overthrows and not too much noise - well done both teams.
Winchmore Hill were contained to a score of 239-4 from their 20 overs, with all of our bowlers keeping it tight and the fielding was excellent.
Amersham surpassed the Winchmore Hill total whilst our fourth pair of Pond & Edmondson were at the crease following the sensible starts of Cooke & Bowcock, then Stewart & Lloyd. Our fifth pair of Fennell & Bland kept their heads and by not losing a wicket secured the win by 22 runs.

Congratulations to all who played this match in very good spirit and in the dark towards the end, ten minutes short of the threatened downpour which duly arrived.

Diven this performance, we can build upon it and give ourselves a real chance to bring home some silverware this year.
