AMERSHAM CC Lost 5 Wickets

Match report A very creditable performance by an under strength team against Wycombe who were fielding 5 of their 1st X1 (2 Leagues above us) and the rest of their team playing for the 2nd's or having played for the 1st.
Once again Dan Colqhoun (68) top scored with power & sublety in his innings and with Rob Viney (58), Amersham posted a respectable score of 157, most agreeing that it was probably 20 runs south of where we stood a chance.
Wycombe's reply was as expected robust and started quickly with their first wicket falling in the 5th over, by which time they had amassed 52 runs and whilst wickets fell at fairly regular intervals, we could not stem the run rate and Wycombe crossed the line on the first ball of the 18th over with 5 wickets down.
The result could have been very different, had the team selected for last weeks rain affected game turned out again, still we'd only have met GX or Beaconsfield in the next round!
