Match report Finally some cricket, the sun was out, and what better way for the thirds to begin than an away trip to Ruislip. The skipper continued last year's successes by losing the toss and was put into bat - on what was a low, slow pitch with a boggy outfield - perfect for runs? The innings got off to a poor start with two wickets being lost in the first over, but upon the arrival of young Kashi Raja, the next 25 overs belonged to the batting team, as him and Chris Fleming provided a base with a hundred run partnership. With Raja's dismissal at however saw a flurry of lost wickets as the middle order failed to capitalise. Stabilisation occurred when Roy Sundarim joined the equally aged challenged Fleming and the team posted a respectable 203 in 45 overs - not bad given the conditions. The Ruislip innings got off to an equally poor start by losing 3 wickets in 2 overs mainly due to Ed Cliffords pin-point accuracy. The match too'd and fro'd right to the very end, but unfortunately, we fell on the wrong side of the ledger....just, on the final ball of the game. Ed Clifford finished with his first club 5' fer and bowled with great accuracy. Sam Toone's fielding efforts were equally immense with a fantastic kicked onto the stumps (following a blinder of a catch earlier in the innings) to keep the scores tied. Two of their team were taken off the field with cramps, one on a table.....just when you think you've seen it all!!
